About Us
Decker Funeral Home, a cherished establishment serving the community since its inception in 1952. Founded by Lee Decker, the funeral home has long been a beacon of respect, compassion, and dignity. Upon Lee's passing, his legacy was carried on by his son, Fredrick Decker, who dedicated his life to honoring families during their most challenging times. As Fred contemplated retirement, he recognized the importance of finding a successor who would uphold the values that Decker Funeral Home stands for. In the winter of 1995, he met John Gulino, a funeral director from Staten Island. Over the subsequent months, they forged a mutual understanding, leading to the successful purchase of Decker Funeral Home by John in August 1996. After three decades of dedicated service, John has decided to pass the torch once more. It is with great care that he has chosen Scott M. Zielonko and Jennifer A. McKeon to carry forward the noble traditions of Decker Funeral Home. On February 26, 2025, Scott and Jennifer officially became the new owners, bringing with them over 40 years of combined experience and a shared commitment to the core values of the establishment. Scott, a licensed funeral director and the current owner of A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home in Greenville, NY, has a wealth of knowledge and expertise, he is one of the most caring individuals you will ever meet. Jennifer, also a licensed funeral director at A.J. Cunningham, is renowned for her compassionate care in serving the deceased and their families, along with her advanced knowledge of reconstruction and cosmetology. Together, alongside John during this transition, Scott and Jennifer are poised to continue serving the Mountain Top families with the highest standard of professionalism and empathy. As we honor the rich history of Decker Funeral Home, we look forward to the future under the stewardship of Scott and Jennifer.
